Ahmet Fitoloğlu

BIOGRAPHY

Ahmet Fitoloğlu graduated as an architect from A.D.M.M. Academy (Ankara Devlet Mimarlık ve Mühendislik Akademisi) in 1978. His art training began earlier — between 1972 and 1976 he worked at Lütfü Günay's studio at the Turkish–American Cultural Association. He continued painting studies for two years under Kayıhan Keskinok, and for another two years at the Celal Yetkin Studio in Karşıyaka Bostanlı, İzmir.

Throughout his career, Fitoloğlu has developed a practice nourished by different disciplines, bringing together the sense of space, balance and composition from his architectural training with painting. Decades of sustained studio work have been decisive in the formation of his distinct voice in abstract expressionist figurative painting.

To date, Ahmet Fitoloğlu has held 12 solo exhibitions. He has exhibited three times at Karşıyaka Municipality Galleries and twice at Mavişehir Ege Park. In 2018 he presented solo shows at the Chamber of Architects Gallery and at Mavibahçe Gallery; in July 2019 at the Orhan Peker Gallery, Ayvalık Municipality; in December 2021 at the Turkish–American Association Gallery in İzmir; in 2022 at Bostanlı Art Gallery; and in 2023 at Çetin Emeç Art Gallery and again at the Orhan Peker Gallery in Ayvalık.

Alongside his solo exhibitions, the artist participates in group shows at the studios where he continues to work. He lives and works in İzmir.
