The work is among the artist's recent experimental pieces: a moment where the figure is left entirely behind and the language of colour itself is allowed to speak. The architect's eye shows itself again in the background vertical pattern, but in the lower section the artist becomes entirely medium — the distribution of colour and the sheen of texture have the floor. A calm and interlaced painting; the visual equivalent of attention dissolving in the calm sea of an Aegean morning.
