The work unfolds like a dream — it is unclear which side is earth and which is sky. Fitoloğlu's mixed media practice is here at its most mature: thick textured oil, graphite, free drawing and acrylic all share the same surface. The 'fine balance between control and freedom' from the manifesto confronts us exactly here: the birds are precise and recognisable, while the ground is entirely fluid and abstract. The artist builds the figure like a skeleton and makes the birds dance around that skeleton — a ritual, a release.
