The front of the yellow figure is in light, the back in darkness; the face of the seated figure is placed exactly between light and dark. Here the artist presents the ordinariness of an İzmir domestic scene like a tableau vivant: the two women are not talking, perhaps they will never talk, but they breathe in the same air.
