Signed Fitol 20. More than twenty figures piled vertically on a red ground. Red is Fitoloğlu's most characteristic 'surprise note' — defined in the manifesto as 'sudden ruptures within life' — but in this work red dominates the entire ground; the exception has become the rule. Figures dressed in blue, green and orange are one on top of another, side by side; birds, heads and bodies interlock. The slightly vertical stretch of the work keeps the large composition within readability: the eye drifts from top to bottom, finding a new figure group at each height. The large format gives every member of this complexity its own breathing room.
