On a dark — almost black — ground, three adult figures and a small girl in a pink dress in front of them. The middle figure, in a red coat, is the warm heart of the composition; the figures on either side are also in tones close to red, but each painted in a different texture. Mother, father, child — or perhaps three generations. When Fitoloğlu paints a family, he turns it not into individuals but into a structure: the faces in the top row do not look at each other, and the child at the very centre is there as if half-asleep. The black ground carries the unknowability of the family feeling — the 'dark notes of life's rhythm' from the manifesto have settled here.
